My Experience Running A Remote Company

As the CEO and founder of Insured Nomads, an insurtech and traveltech insurance provider that operates a globally distributed and fully remote company, I am excited to share my thoughts on the topic of remote work. At Insured Nomads, we understand the unique needs of remote workers, vacationers, students, humanitarians, expats, and global benefit solutions, as we ourselves are nomads. In response to this, we have created an Insurance as a Service (IaaS) platform that provides global health and safety protection through travel and global health insurance paired with an advanced tech-enabled membership program: INC by Insured Nomads that is included for all members.

One of the advantages of remote work is the freedom to work from anywhere in the world, opening new opportunities for travel, work, and life in various parts of the globe. This has also allowed companies like our own to grow rapidly and benefit from a globally distributed team, while also attracting top talent from around the world and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

As technology improves and companies recognize the benefits of a distributed workforce, remote work is becoming increasingly popular. Remote workers have more flexibility and autonomy, leading to higher job satisfaction and productivity. Additionally, remote work enables companies to tap into a global talent pool, which is especially valuable for businesses like Insured Nomads that operate internationally.
When operating as a remote only organization that works across time zones and cultures it is crucial that communication be intentional, thoughtful and clear. Asynchronous communication is much more empowering and productive and a common practice among modern companies. Working in an ‘async’ manner requires adjustment by all so that expectations are clearly communicated, and methods provided for collaborative work.

At Insured Nomads, we have been a remote-first company since our inception and have seen the positive impact that remote work can have on our team and our business. Our IaaS platform and membership program are designed to help others experience the same benefits. As a justice-driven company, we believe that remote work is a crucial step towards a more inclusive and equitable future for all. We are committed to empowering remote workers to live and work on their own terms

while providing them with the peace of mind that comes with being protected by our insurance solutions, so they can explore the world while working.
